Capitals’ Burakovsky suffers upper-body injury, done for the night vs. Red Wings

The Washington Capitals will be without Andre Burakovsky for the remainder of Thursday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings.

The 22-year-old forward left with an upper-body injury and would not return, the club stated in the second period, after he was hurt blocking a shot in the first period.

Replays show Burakovsky in obvious pain as he left the ice, taking off his glove and exposing his right hand as he went down the tunnel to the dressing room.

In 51 games this season, Burakovsky has 11 goals and 29 points, while averaging more than 1:30 per game on the power play.
