When the Philadelphia Flyers take on the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday afternoon in a pretty big Eastern Conference matchup, they will be trying to snap a five-game losing streak and bust out of a slump that has seen them win just one of their past eight games.

As expected, they will be doing it with Michal Neuvirth in net.

Neuvirth is getting the start on Saturday and returning to the lineup for the first time since Nov. 12 when he was sidelined with a lower body injury in a game against the Minnesota Wild.

Before the injury Neuvirth -- like the other half of the Flyers’ goalie duo, Steve Mason -- had been off to a slow start and managed only a .859 save percentage in his first nine appearances.

The Flyers activated him from injured reserve earlier this week and sent Anthony Stolarz to the American Hockey League.

Philadelphia’s recent slump comes just after the team went on a 10-game winning streak that propelled them back into a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They enter play on Saturday still occupying the second wild card spot, but they are just one point ahead of the Boston Bruins and only three points ahead of the Lightning, making Saturday’s game the classic “four-point game.”
