This has been a crazy season for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

When it started, coach John Tortorella was the early season favorite to be the first coach fired this season after the team dropped its first two games. Not only is he still behind the bench -- Gerard Gallant was the first coach fired, anyway -- but the Blue Jackets are riding a 15-game winning streak into Tuesday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers that has helped propel them to the top of the NHL standings.

They are also now the odds on favorites to win the Stanley Cup.

Yes. That is right. The Columbus Blue Jackets.

The folks at Bovada released their updated Stanley Cup odds on Tuesday, and there is Tortorella’s bunch right at the top of the list, currently sitting at 7/1 favorites to win it all.

On Dec. 1 they were 28/1.

The Blue Jackets enter play on Tuesday having not lost a game since Nov. 26, and even then they still gained a point in the standings by losing to the Florida Panthers in a shootout. They won the game before that which gives them points in 17 straight games, a stretch that has seen them earn 33 out of a potential 34 points.

Here are the current Stanley Cup odds for every team in the league. The Blue Jackets are followed by the Chicago Blackhawks, the Minnesota Wild (who have had a pretty impressive winning streak of their own), the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins and the New York Rangers.

The Arizona Coyotes and the Colorado Avalanche are the teams with the worst odds, currently sitting at 500/1.
