After missing the past 23 games due to a lower body injury the Philadelphia Flyers are ready to get goaltender Michal Neuvirth back in the lineup.

The team announced on Tuesday that Neuvirth has been activated from injured reserve and that goaltender Anthony Stolarz has been sent back to Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League to make room for him. Stolarz appeared in four games for the Flyers, starting two, and recording a 2-0 record with a .938 save percentage.

Neuvirth has not played for the Flyers since Nov. 12 against the Minnesota Wild when he played just 20 minutes.

In his nine appearances this season Neuvirth has struggled and is currently the owner of an .859 save percentage. His performance before the injury was a little surprising given how good he was last season when he finished with a .924 save percentage in 32 appearances. Combined with Steve Mason the Flyers had one of the most productive goaltending duos in the league for a pretty cheap price against the cap.

Both goalies came back this season and got off to slow starts that contributed to the Flyers stumbling out of the gate. Mason has improved since the first month of the season and has helped the Flyers get back on track and work their way back into a playoff position.
