PHT Morning Skate: Oilers’ Maroon gets emotional after watching son celebrate goal

--This was a real touching moment after yesterday’s game between the Oilers and Blues. Oilers forward Patrick Maroon, who was playing in his hometown of St. Louis, got emotional after seeing the replay of his young son celebrating his goal. Just awesome. (Top)

--Dinamo Minsk forward Sergei Drozd had an opportunity to bury a puck into the opposition’s net with their goalie on the bench in favor of an extra attacker. He’s done a good job of getting in front of the net on the goals he’s created with his puck possession. Overall, he’s been good,” coach Lindy Ruff said. (Dallas Morning News)

--2016 was very kind to Penguins captain Sidney Crosby. He took home the Stanley Cup, the Conn Smythe trophy and a World Cup. Oh, and his numbers this season aren’t too shabby either. Despite all the success he’s had, Crosby continues to work hard to improve his game. His coaches and teammates realize how much effort he puts into his craft and so do his opponents. (ESPN)
