Video: Hurricanes rookie Aho scores first NHL goal

In his 14th career NHL game, Sebastian Aho finally scored his first NHL goal.

The Carolina Hurricanes 19-year-old rookie forward buried a rebound in front after initially winning the puck along the boards to tie Saturday’s game against the Washington Capitals at one-goal apiece.

Aho, selected in the second round of the 2015 draft, entered the game with six assists. Less than five minutes after his goal, Aho helped set up Teuvo Teravainen to give Carolina the lead.

His teammates had previously sensed this milestone goal coming.

“He’s got all the tools that you need,” Joakim Nordstrom told the Raleigh News & Observer. “It’s been really fun to play with him so far. He’s really creative, and he has great poise with the puck. He’s got a really good hockey IQ.”
