The struggles continue for the Colorado Avalanche.

After hanging on for a shutout win over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday, the Avalanche went into St. Louis on Sunday, fell behind early and things continued to get worse from there.

Semyon Varlamov gave up five goals on 25 shots and was replaced in net by Calvin Pickard to begin the third period, with the Blues opening up a four-goal lead late in the middle period.

Pickard made 32 saves the night before for the shutout.
