Anaheim had a quiet start to free agency, but picked things up as of late.
Just one day after adding ex-Flames winger Mason Raymond, GM Bob Murray brought aboard a pair of veterans on Tuesday -- blueliner Jeff Schultz, who spent the last few seasons in the Kings organization, and rugged forward Jared Boll, who spent his entire nine-year career in Columbus before getting bought out last week.
Jared Boll gets a two-year deal from Ducks. One-way both years, $900K AAV.

Schultz was purely a depth defenseman in L.A., appearing in just 10 games over the last two seasons. It’s presumed he’ll be mostly the same with the Ducks, but could be pressed into some action depending on what Murray does with Kevin Bieksa (Murray was rumored to be working on changing Bieksa’s no-movement clause) and Cam Fowler (a popular trade target this offseason).
As for Boll, he’ll likely fill the fourth-line tough guy role of Nate Thompson, who could be out until next year’s trade deadline after rupturing his Achilles tendon. Boll has fought 21 times over the last two years.
