Datsyuk picks up three assists, Russia dominates Team USA in Bronze Medal Game

Russia's offense was operating on all cylinders against the United States, earning them a bronze medal in the World Championships.

It simply wasn’t Team USA’s day at the World Hockey Championship. The Americans were dominated by Team Russia 7-2 on Sunday.

The Russians opened the scoring at the 6:23 mark of the first period when former Kings defenseman Slava Voynov beat Keith Kinkaid.

It was all downhill from there for the U.S.

Datsyuk picked up the primary assists on both of Sergei Mozyakin’s goals and on Ivan Telegin’s lone marker.

Bruins forward Frank Vatrano scored both of Team USA’s goals, including this one to finally get the Americans on the board:

The U.S. will have to settle for fourth place in 2016, but that might not be such a bad thing considering the number of young players they brought to the tournament this year.

The Russians salvaged their tournament by winning a bronze medal on home ice.

Team Canada will take on Team Finland in the Gold Medal Game at 1:00 p.m. ET.
