The Americans beat Belarus, Hungary and France during the group stage, but they dropped games to Canada, Finland, Germany and Slovakia.
As for the Czechs, they took down Russia, Latvia, Sweden, Norway, Kazakhstan and Switzerland. Their only loss in the group stage came against Denmark.
