This game between the L.A. Kings and San Jose Sharks, two bitter California rivals, has bordered on chaos at times, with back-and-forth action and lead changes -- and it’s been highly entertaining as a result.
Given the frantic nature of this one, it seemed fitting that a defenseman, in this case Drew Doughty, would be called upon to make a desperation save of some kind on a scramble for his team.
With the Kings and Sharks in a 2-2 deadlock midway through the second period, Doughty went old school, stacking the pads to absolutely rob Patrick Marleau on the doorstep, as goalie Jonathan Quick was caught out of position leaving only Doughty left to cover the open net.
