The Tampa Bay Lightning either don’t know or haven’t shared an update on Tyler Johnson after he was helped off the ice following a hit by Greg Pateryn of the Montreal Canadiens.
What we do know is that the check left Lightning head coach Jon Cooper furious ... but it sounds like that’s all that will come of it.
Pateryn racked up 15 penalty minutes for that check, yet there won’t be any supplemental discipline for the infraction, which you can watch in the video above. That comes from TVA’s Renaud Lavoie.
No hearing for #canadiens Greg Pateryn. Fact that Tyler Johnson skate got stuck in the ice at the impact made the difference. #tvasports

Again, Cooper wasn’t happy:
Cooper on hit "That kid had a blatant disrespect for (honor and respect). That was egregious what happened & there is no place for it"

And the updates seemed less-than-ideal, although Johnson reportedly traveled with the team.
Cooper "Lots of concern (for Johnson) if this was a playoff game he couldn't have come back, so that's where he is at"

Perhaps the league might have also been a little more likely to hand out a suspension if the Canadiens’ season wasn’t already over?
That’s for people to speculate, although chances are that the Lightning may remember this moment. Especially if Johnson misses some playoff games.
