Catching Patrick Kane is easier said than done, but Wild defenseman Matt Dumba certainly delivered a good shot on Chicago’s no. 88.
Kane lost the puck in his feet as he was getting close to Minnesota’s blue line and Dumba took that opportunity to flatten him. It was definitely a solid collision, but it’s hard to say the hit was dirty. If Dumba caught Kane’s head it’s because he was looking down at the puck.
Artemi Panarin went after Dumba right away. The rookie was given a roughing penalty as a result while Dumba’s hit went unpenalized.
Kane went to the ‘Hawks locker room, but he did manage to return before the end of the period.
