Video: Pretty passing from Holtby, Kuznetsov set up Winnik’s first goal with Capitals

Daniel Winnik’s first goal with the Washington Capitals was a beauty.

The rugged forward was on the finishing end of a nifty passing play started by Braden Holtby and carried on by Evgeny Kuznetsov during the second period of Friday’s game against the Nashville Predators.

Holtby started it with a stretch saucer pass to Kuznetsov, who carried the puck into the zone and found Winnik with a cross-ice slap pass. That tied the game at one goal apiece and gave Holtby his first assist of the season.

Winnik scored again later in the second period, as Washington opened up a two-goal lead.
