It’s been a disappointing season for a Calgary Flames that came into 2015-16 with high hopes, but the last player you should blame is Johnny Gaudreau.
The magical forward hasn’t suffered from a sophomore slump, and in fact is largely justifying the hype that developed from his fantastic rookie season.
With two goals in 10 seconds, Gaudreau dazzled against the Nashville Predators. He’s now at 65 points, which marks a new career-high for the budding star. (Gaudreau ended the night with 66 points.)
Video of both goals in one clip will be added if available, but for now, here’s the second tally:
Gaudreau didn’t beat Lanny McDonald’s mark, but Flames fans probably aren’t complaining.
Johnny Gaudreau’s 2 goals in 0:10 were 0:04 from @NHLFlames record for fastest 2 goals by 1 player (0:06 - Lanny McDonald, 03/22/84 vs. DET)

Update: Nashville managed to extend its franchise-record point streak to 14 games by pushing the game to overtime, but Gaudreau set up the overtime game-winner or an impressive three-point night.
