With first place in the Pacific Division on the line, it’s no surprise there was some early friction between the Anaheim Ducks and L.A. Kings on Saturday.
A line brawl erupted less than seven minutes into the first period, resulting in game misconducts for Ducks defenseman Kevin Bieksa and Kings forward Andy Andreoff and a total of 66 penalty minutes.
Order appeared to be restored after the original scrum along the boards. But chaos once again ensued after a late shove to Corey Perry and it was on from there. Rickard Rakell and Kris Versteeg paired off in the main bout.
Rakell of first hockey fight ever. "I’m usually a pretty nice guy. You just try to stick up for your teammates. It all happened so fast."

The Ducks, winners of 10 straight games, and Kings are tied for top spot in the Pacific with 80 points.
