Video: Flyers’ Gudas scores his first goal of the season on a shot from center ice

Radko Gudas has recently been in the news for the wrong reasons due to a slew of controversial hits.

On Saturday, the Philadelphia Flyers defenseman hit the score sheet with his first goal of the season.

Did we mention that goal came on a slap shot from center ice?

Just past the midway point of the first period, Gudas fired a long slapper that beat Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Curtis McElhinney to give Philadelphia a 2-0 lead.

Update: Gudas scored twice and added two assists for a four-point night. He had six points in 57 games this season before Saturday’s game with Columbus.
