PHT Morning Skate: A night of firsts

PHT’s Morning Skate takes a look around the world of hockey to see what’s happening and what we’ll be talking about around the NHL world and beyond.

The trade deadline makes for some shuffling, and in the case of Tuesday, that meant a lot of firsts.

Derek Ryan’s first goal - at age 29 - can be seen here. NHL.com tells the story about Ryan’s journey to scoring that great goal for the Carolina Hurricanes.

Calgary Flames defenseman Jakub Nakladal took advantage of his opportunity last night, scoring his first goal as well:

Finally, Chris Bigras of the Colorado Avalanche also found the net for the first time in his NHL career:
