No hearing scheduled for Gudas after high hit on Farnham

Radko Gudas doesn’t have a disciplinary hearing scheduled after getting tossed for a questionable hit during Tuesday’s Flyers-Devils game, an NHL spokesman has confirmed.

Gudas was chucked in the first period of Philly’s eventual 6-3 win for an illegal check to the head of Devils forward Bobby Farnham. Farnham remained in the game and finished with 8:39 TOI.

Gudas’ reputation as one of the NHL’s most notorious and dangerous hitters has increased with numerous incidents this year -- five questionable hits all told, per the Philly Inquirer.

Earlier this month, Gudas laid out Buffalo rookie Daniel Catenacci late in the third period a 5-1 Flyers win. The hit ended Catenacci’s night and landed him on IR, but Gudas avoided supplemental discipline.

That wasn’t the case back in December, though, when Gudas was was suspended three games for a headshot on Mika Zibanejad.

It’s also worth pointing out that, also in February, Gudas was tossed from a game against Montreal for clipping, after delivering a low hit on Habs forward Lucas Lessio.

The Flyers don’t play again until Friday, when they’ll take on the Habs in Montreal.
