Tonight won’t be a part of Corey Crawford’s All-Star snub argument

Corey Crawford isn't going to the All-Star game, but he should be. After winning the Stanley Cup last season he's maintained a strong, consistency throughout the season sitting at second in wins and first in shutouts.

As you can see from the video above (not to mention in plenty of articles, especially in Chicago-related outlets), there’s a strong argument that Corey Crawford should be an All-Star selection.

Those takes won’t rotate around what happened tonight.

By no means is this to say that Crawford is the only member of the Blackhawks who struggled in a first period in which the Carolina Hurricanes built a startling 3-0 lead.

Really, there’s only so much a goalie can do on plays like these:

Regardless, it’s the kind of night Crawford will like to forget ... and one we’ve rarely seen during what’s been an otherwise excellent season.

The Blackhawks replaced Crawford with Scott Darling during the second period, which is likely for the best.
