Lucic sounds off on referee Brad Meier after sucker punch on Connauton (with Video)

Milan Lucic was angry after taking a slash from Kevin Connauton during Saturday’s game, and he responded by sucker punching the Arizona Coyotes defenseman in the head.

That earned the L.A. Kings forward a game misconduct, and the Kings lost by a final score of 3-2. Afterward, Lucic sounded off on the officiating -- in particular, Brad Meier -- in that situation, as well as the condition of his hand after the slash.

“Thankfully X-rays came back negative. I mean, if I don’t react, I don’t think he even calls a penalty. Same guy – Brad Meier. I think this is the fourth time he’s kicked me out of a game. It’s always the same thing with him, It’s if guys can take liberties on me and it’s not a penalty,” said Lucic, as per LA Kings Insider.

“If I do something, then I’m automatically kicked out of the game. It’s just unfortunate that it is that way with him, and I’ve just got to move on and not get frustrated by the referees in the game.

“Well my whole hand went numb. I truly thought of the worst because I couldn’t feel my hand after the slash like that, and that’s the way I reacted the way that I did. Luckily we didn’t go four-on-four, we still had the power play, but you know, like I said, I’m just thankful that everything came back negative.”
