Video: Pavelski scores the late winner as red-hot Sharks tame Wild

Cue the creepy music from ‘Jaws’ if you’d like. The San Jose Sharks are on a roll.

Their latest victory came Saturday, as they got a goal from Joe Pavelski -- the 23rd of his season and first since Jan. 12 -- with 1:24 remaining in regulation to stun the Minnesota Wild by a final score of 4-3.

Pavelski finished the day with three points.

The Pacific Division lead may be too far beyond their reach -- the L.A. Kings hold onto that spot, eight points ahead of San Jose -- but the Sharks are among the hottest teams in the league right now, with this recent surge pushing them into sole possession of second in that division.

When this hot streak began back on Jan. 9, when they put up a seven-spot on Toronto, the Sharks had been floundering. They were out of a playoff spot, sixth in the Pacific and a single point up on the Edmonton Oilers.
