After the Blues' impressive road win over the Detroit Red Wings, Pierre McGuire catches up with David Backes to talk about how St. Louis has managed to piece everything together despite a rash of injuries all year long.

The St. Louis Blues, in search of their third straight win, were down to five defensemen, including 22-year-old blue liner Joel Edmundson and 32-year-old journeyman Andre Benoit, against the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday.

Yet despite being short a player on the blue line, the Blues came away with the victory, thanks to a brilliant goal from Dmitrij Jaskin and a solid performance from goalie Brian Elliott.

Injuries, adversity, obstacles -- Blues’ captain David Backes, following Wednesday’s result, summed up his team’s ability to pick up wins despite what they have been facing.
