The New York Rangers announced that defenseman Dan Girardi won’t return to Monday’s game against the Boston Bruins because he suffered a lacerated hand.
Yikes indeed.
That unfortunate moment took place during the second period.

It’s been a rocky season for Girardi, whether he’s been hurt or just struggling on the ice, so some Rangers fans may view this as a blessing in disguise.
Update: The Rangers gutted out a win in the third period, edging the Bruins 2-1.
