Boston’s power play was at it again on Saturday afternoon.
The Bruins got one opportunity on the man-advantage against the Panthers, but they were able to convert on their lone attempt.
The power play goal, which proved to be the game-winner, was scored by forward Ryan Spooner.
The 23-year-old also opened the scoring in the first period, when he tipped in a Torey Krug shot from the point.
Four of Spooner’s seven goals this season have come on the power play.
He has 16 points in 28 games in ’15-16.
The Bruins’ power play is ranked first in the NHL at 30.8 percent.
That’s all a full seven percent more than Dallas, who has the second-best power play at 23.9 percent.
Former Bruin Rilley Smith cut Boston’s lead to 2-1 in the third period before Brad Marchand scored into an empty net to give Boston a 3-1 win.
Boston also got another strong performance from goalie Tuukka Rask, who turned aside 26 of 27 shots.
The 28-year-old has now won three straight starts. He hasn’t lost in regulation since Nov. 17 (6-0-2).
On top of losing the game, the Panthers also lost forward Derek MacKenzie to a lower-body injury in the second period.
MacKenzie's knee slammed into sideboards. Not Seidenberg's fault at all. #flapanthers
