Uh oh, is the injury bug biting the Columbus Blue Jackets again?

Brandon Dubinsky won’t play against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday thanks to an upper-body injury, according to the team.

The precise source of Dubinsky’s injury is not immediately obvious.

With Dubinsky out, the Blue Jackets are forced to do some juggling.

For one thing, Nick Foligno slides into a center spot between Brandon Saad and Scott Hartnell, according to Rob Mixer. The Columbus Dispatch’s Aaron Portzline points out that Columbus is low on eligible forwards at the moment, so Ryan Murray is likely to dress as a seventh defenseman.

Will this all play into an advantage for the Penguins, or will the Blue Jackets respond to this challenge? We’ll find out soon enough.

PHT will also keep an eye out for updates regarding the longer term outlook for Dubinsky.
