The Anaheim Ducks let a point get away tonight.

Boy did they ever.

Not only did the Ducks jump out to a 2-0 lead over the visitors from Arizona, only to blow that, they also had a late 5-on-3 advantage with the scored tied 3-3, which they failed to convert.

Given how regulation went, the game-winning goal in 3-on-3 overtime was rather fitting. Ryan Getzlaf had the puck at center ice. He dropped it, thinking teammate Corey Perry would come behind and pick it up. Instead, Perry went the other way and the puck was left all alone for Arizona’s Mikkel Boedker, who proceeded to score on a 100-foot breakaway.

Credit the young Coyotes who didn’t quit after falling behind early. Anthony Duclair scored his sixth goal. Max Domi got his sixth and seventh.

For the Ducks, well, at least Ryan Kesler finally got a goal.
