The Boston Bruins have reassigned veteran forward Max Talbot to AHL Providence.
Talbot was recalled last week in the wake of Chris Kelly’s injury. However, with the emergence of Frank Vatrano and the expected return of David Pastrnak from a foot contusion, Talbot was not able to maintain his spot on the roster.
Vatrano, 21, has played two games for the Bruins. He scored in his first, at Montreal on Saturday. And while he didn’t score in his second, he did register five shots Sunday in Brooklyn.
Talbot didn’t register a point in his three-game return to the B’s. He was a combined minus-2 with five shots.
The Bruins host Colorado on Thursday.
