Hectic start to Blues - Blackhawks, to say the least

Want goals, collisions and overall strange stuff? The first period of St. Louis Blues - Chicago Blackhawks gave you plenty of that.

The Blackhawks enter the first intermission with a 5-2 lead, and there were indeed some odd things that happened in net for St. Louis besides all the pucks entering it.

Brian Elliott was taken out of the Blues’ net as an end-around to essentially use a timeout, as Jake Allen only came in for about 40 seconds ... at first.

More goals came after that, and then Jonathan Toews collided with Elliott in a moment that involved a David Backes penalty. Here’s a replay of that collision:
