Tyler Johnson’s a little banged up, may miss Bolts game Saturday

When considering the Tampa Bay Lightning’s scoring frustrations and a slow start for “The Triplets,” some may wonder if Tyler Johnson really is 100 percent to start 2015-16.

Friday’s updates will only add fuel to that speculative fire.

Johnson skipped practice for the sake of " body maintenance” and head coach Jon Cooper is “on the fence” about whether he’ll play against the Boston Bruins tomorrow, according to the Tampa Tribune’s Erik Erlendsson.

Honestly, the Lightning may be wise to rest Johnson, especially since they’re facing back-to-back games this weekend.

It’s a long season, after all, and Johnson’s dealt with injury hiccups both at the end of the 2015 postseason and early in this campaign. Perhaps giving him a breather would be a “short-term pain, long-term gain” type move?
