Upper-body injuries leave Couturier, Raffl, Neuvirth day-to-day

Upper-body injuries are proving to be a big headache for the Philadelphia Flyers right now.

They’re also making a somewhat murky impact, as three players dealing with the nebulously named injuries are all day-to-day, according to the team: Sean Couturier, Michael Raffl and Michal Neuvirth.

PHT already discussed Neuvirth being placed on IR earlier today, but to reiterate, he may not be as far from returning as it may seem (he practiced on Sunday).

The two forwards are maybe more interesting cases.

Raffl collapsed on the Flyers bench in a scary scene on Saturday, yet he’s currently labeled day-to-day. Perhaps that’s a good sign?

Couturier is banged up after a controversial hit by Zach Rinaldo, which didn’t prompt a suspension from the NHL. (You can see the hit in the video above this post.)

Philly’s next game is Tuesday, so we’ll see if day-to-day means that at least one of these players may return. PHT will keep you updated either way.
