New York has placed Tanner Glass on waivers, per Sportsnet.

Glass, 31, joined the Rangers last season and appeared in 66 regular-season and 19 playoff games, reuniting with his former coach in Vancouver, Alain Vigneault.

A former ninth-round pick out of Dartmouth, Glass played for the Panthers, Canucks, Jets and Penguins prior to joining the Blueshirts on a relatively expensive three-year, $4.35 million deal with a $1.45M average annual cap hit.

In September, with Glass’ prospects for making the roster looking slim, there was talk of him hitting waivers and heading to AHL Hartford, so the cap-strapped Rangers could obtain $950,000 in salary relief.

Glass did make the team out of camp, but has since appeared in just two games.
