Predators GM David Poile has expressed interest in keeping pending unrestricted free agent Mike Ribeiro in Nashville.

However, Ribeiro’s agent Don Meehan told Adam Vingan of the Tennessean on Tuesday that his client is seeking a multi-year deal.

“We would want something longer than one year,” Meehan said.

Ribeiro signed a one-year $1.05 million deal with the Preds last July.

The 35-year-old scored 15 goals and 62 points in 82 games for the Preds in 2014-15 while averaging nearly 19 minutes a night in ice time. He added a goal and four helpers in six playoff games.

“I’d love to be back with the Predators next season,” Ribeiro said following the season.

The Preds inked Ribeiro to a deal last summer after the Arizona Coyotes bought him out.
