Another player has left the Leafs organization to try his hand overseas -- on Friday, Swedish League outfit Lulela announced that Brendan Mikkelson had agreed to a contract.

Mikkelson, 27, spent all of last season with the AHL’s Marlies after attending Leafs camp on a PTO. He went on to score 23 points in 60 American League games; it was actually his second tour of duty with Toronto, as he also played for the Marlies during the 2009-10 campaign.

The 31st overall pick at the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Mikkelson had previously spent time with the Anaheim, Calgary and Tampa Bay organizations, appearing in over 130 career contests.

As mentioned above, Mikkelson is the latest Leaf to leave the organization. Last week, Joakim Lindstrom -- acquired from St. Louis at the trade deadline -- announced he was signing with KHL club SKA St. Petersburg.
