Luke Schenn ‘unlikely to play the rest of the season’

Luke Schenn

Flyers GM Ron Hextall announced today that defenseman Luke Schenn is “unlikely to play the rest of the season” due to a lower-body injury.

“We will give final medical information when we have it in full,” said Hextall.

Assuming he doesn’t play again, Schenn will finish 2014-15 with three goals and 11 assists in 58 games. The 25-year-old is signed through next season, after which he can become an unrestricted free agent.

Schenn was traded from Toronto to Philadelphia in 2012, in return for James van Riemsdyk. The fifth overall pick in 2008, Schenn has mostly struggled to live up to his draft pedigree.
