In a tight game heading into the third period, Jack Eichel was finally able to strike.

The Boston University freshman and Hobey Baker finalist, and the No. 2-ranked North American skater in NHL Central Scouting’s midterm rankings, scored twice late in the third period to help his team to a 4-1 victory over New Hampshire in the second of two Hockey East semifinals on Friday. His first of the night showed off his quick hands around the net, and his determination, too, after he was planted into the boards in an awkward position during the sequence.

Boston University will now play UMass Lowell in the Hockey East championship game on Saturday.
