New York Rangers defenseman Kevin Klein is out for the next three-to-four weeks due to a suspected arm injury stemming from an Alex Ovechkin shot during Wednesday’s game, per Blueshirts United.

That timetable will keep Klein out for most of what’s left of the regular season, but he might still be able to get in a few more games before the start of the 2015 playoffs.

The 30-year-old blueliner has already set new career-highs in 2014-15 with nine goals, 24 points, and a plus-26 rating. He’s also logged 18:29 minutes per contest and ranks second on the squad with 115 blocked shots.

His numbers are a little less flattering from an analytics perspective though as the Rangers have a 48.1 Fenwick percentage when he’s on the on the ice compared to a 51.1 percentage when he’s not.

With Klein sidelined, Matt Hunwick is expected to step out of the press box and help fill the void.
