The San Jose Sharks have acquired defenseman Karl Stollery in a trade with the Colorado Avalanche, in return for forward Freddie Hamilton.

From the Sharks:

Stollery, 27, has played in seven NHL games with the Colorado Avalanche, posting four penalty minutes.

He was originally signed as a free agent by Colorado on May 2, 2013.

Hamilton has appeared in 11 NHL games with San Jose, all during the 2013-14 season, posting two penalty minutes.

The Sharks, in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2003, have been busy today. They’ve also traded Andrew Desjardins for Ben Smith and Tyler Kennedy for a third-round pick in 2016, plus they lost Tye McGinn to waivers.

Oh, and they traded James Sheppard yesterday.
