Video: Lack robs Eriksson with sprawling left-arm save

This, for the time being, is Eddie Lack’s team, which is something Vancouver Canucks head coach Willie Desjardins said before Tuesday’s game with the Boston Bruins.

With Ryan Miller injured, Lack has stepped into the starting role. He’s been busy in Boston, facing 28 shots through two periods, including 20 in the middle period.

His best save of the night came off Loui Eriksson in the second period. Knocked backwards and with his mask coming off, Lack stuck out the left arm in desperation, robbing the Boston forward of what looked to be a wide open net.

Now, there was some question as to whether the officials should’ve called a penalty shot, as a Canucks defenseman clearly put their hand on the puck in the crease, trying to get the puck out of harm’s way after the stop.

No call. Still, a spectacular save.

Now, does it rival this unbelievable stop from Karri Ramo on J.T. Miller earlier in the evening?
