Ehrhoff (concussion) is ‘feeling better,’ but no timetable for return

Christian Ehrhoff says he’s “feeling better and getting in the right direction.” However, when the Penguins’ defenseman, out with a concussion since Jan. 28, can return to game action remains to be seen.

“Hopefully not too much longer,” Ehrhoff told reporters after skating this morning, “but it’s kind of a day-to-day how-you-feel thing, so it’s tough to give an estimate or prognosis.”

Ehrhoff has just three goals and 10 assists in 43 games this season. But despite those modest offensive numbers (compared to the ones he’s put up in the past), he’s played a large role for the Pens, averaging over 22 minutes a game.

With Olli Maatta out for the season, the Penguins certainly aren’t going to rush Ehrhoff back and risk his status for the playoffs, not to mention his long-term health.
