Anaheim barely got a look at Eric Brewer after acquiring him in late November -- he played just two games before breaking his foot -- so tonight’s game versus Carolina should have some significance, as Brewer returns to the lineup after missing the last 24 contests.

The veteran d-man, injured against Boston on Dec. 1, will replace Clayton Stoner (illness) in the lineup.

Brewer’s return is something to keep an eye on. The Ducks are rumored to be in the market for defensive help at the trade deadline but still don’t really know what they’ve got in the 35-year-old, who came to Anaheim after falling out of favor in Tampa Bay. In his second game as a Duck -- the same one he busted his foot -- Brewer played a season-high 21:05 and finished with three blocked shots and 2:45 shorthanded time on ice, suggesting there could be a bigger role for him under Bruce Boudreau than there was under Jon Cooper.
