Alex Ovechkin could’ve gone first overall. He wanted to get picked last, in need of a car, apparently.
So, Team Foligno, perhaps going off the board to an extent, went with the local favorite, selecting Columbus Blue Jackets forward Ryan Johansen with the first overall pick in the NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft.
In 45 games this season, the 22-year-old Johansen has 17 goals and 43 points. Five years ago, the Blue Jackets took Johansen with the fourth overall pick in the NHL Draft.
