Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby will miss this weekend’s All-Star Game due to a lower body injury the club announced Thursday.
According to the the Penguins, Crosby has been playing with the injury and will require a week to heal.
Crosby's lone All-Star Game apperance in which he actually played remains the 2007 game in Dallas.

As a result of missing the All-Star Game, Crosby will be forced to miss the Penguins’ game Jan. 27 against the Winnipeg Jets. The game is Sidney Crosby bobblehead night in Pittsburgh.
Crosby becomes the second Penguin to bow out of this weekend’s festivities.
Evgeni Malkin will not participate due to a lower body injury and has been replaced by Nashville Predators rookie Filip Forsberg.
