The Chicago Blackhawks will be without the services of Dan Carcillo tonight when they play host to the Dallas Stars.
Carcillo is considered suspended until his in-person hearing.
Since he was offered an in-person hearing, Carcillo is due for a suspension of at least six games.
The 29-year-old has a hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety for his cross-check on Jets’ forward Mathieu Perreault on Friday.
Here is a look at the play in question:
Joakim Nordstrom replaces Carcillo in the Blackhawks’ lineup tonight.
Carcillo has had several run-ins with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety.
Last May he was suspended 10 games for abuse of an official - that suspension was reduced to six games after an appeal.
In October 2011, Carcillo was suspended two games for a hit on Hurricanes’ defenseman Joni Pitkanen.
