Notes:
--- It helps to have the puck. Detroit, Chicago, Tampa Bay and the Islanders have it a lot and get a lot of power plays; Buffalo barely has it all, and doesn’t.
--- Speed is a factor in drawing penalties. No surprise to see a couple of older, slower teams, New Jersey and Vancouver, near the bottom of the table.
--- It’s important to remember that referees, though they will deny this, have a tendency to even up calls. The Red Wings, for example, get a lot of power plays, but they’ve also been shorthanded a fair bit. The largest PP/PK differentials belong to Chicago (plus-39) and Boston (minus-34).
