More injury concerns for Philly goalie Steve Mason, per the Courier-Post -- the 26-year-old left Wednesday’s practice with an undisclosed injury and will undergo an MRI this afternoon.

“I took two shots with Reeser [goalie coach Jeff Reese],” Mason said. “It had been bothering me since the end of last game [vs. Ottawa, Tuesday].

“Didn’t feel good, so I’m gonna get it checked out.”

The big concern, obviously, is that Mason has re-aggravated the back ailment that forced him to miss four games in December. He wouldn’t say if that was the injury or not, but did say that “any time you need an MRI, there’s cause for concern.”

Mason is 7-12-6 on the year for Philly, with a 2.50 GAA and .919 save percentage. If he’s out, Ray Emery will slide into the starting gig while Robb Zepp would likely be recalled from AHL Lehigh Valley.
