Elliott returns for the Blues

Brian Elliott will get his first start since Nov. 25 when the St. Louis Blues take on the Nashville Predators tonight.

The Blues signed Martin Brodeur to help fill the void while Elliott was sidelined with a knee injury. Brodeur was less than ideal in his efforts to fill the void, but the future Hall of Fame goaltender did post a 16-save shutout on Monday. That won’t be his last start either as the Blues have already penciled Brodeur in for either Friday or Saturday’s game, per their Twitter feed.

Meanwhile Jake Allen will serve as Elliott’s backup tonight as St. Louis tries to balance its three goaltenders.

Nashville will counter with Pekka Rinne.

Elsewhere...

Habs at Panthers: Carey Price will likely start against Roberto Luongo.

Kings at Oilers: Los Angeles hasn’t revealed its starter, but Edmonton will send out Ben Scrivens.

Canucks at Sharks: It’s not yet known who Vancouver will start; San Jose is expected to go with Alex Stalock.
