The United States looks like it will enter the traditional (and always-fascinating) New Year’s Eve world junior matchup against Canada on a high note.
They beat Slovakia 3-0 on Monday, and much like their win against Germany, it wasn’t particularly close. It did take the U.S. until the second period to score, but with another significant shot differential (42-17 this time), it was clear that they were in control of the action.
Sonny Milano’s 1-0 tally stood out as one of the more impressive moments, while Dylan Larkin and Tyler Motte also found the net. Thatcher Demko generated a shutout for the United States, his second straight goose egg.
