The Anaheim Ducks announced Wednesday that goaltender John Gibson has been assigned to Norfolk of the American Hockey League.

The 21-year-old is 2-2-0 with a 2.28 G.A.A. and a .927 save percentage in four appearances this season with the Ducks. However, Gibson has not played since injuring his groin during pre-game skate on Nov.2 and has missed 21 games.

In the wake of the Ilya Bryzgalov signing, Gibson is expected to spend much of the season in the AHL.

Gibson is 21-17-4 with five shutouts, a 2.37 G.A.A. and .918 save percentage in 46 career AHL games with Norfolk.
