The New Jersey Devils had a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes tonight in New York thanks to goals from Marek Zidlicky and Scott Gomez.

With his assist on Zdlicky’s goal, Jaromir Jagr moved into sole possession of the seventh spot on the NHL’s all-time assists leaderboard passing Steve Yzerman.

Gomez, who had the primary assist on the goal, passed Scott Stevens for sole possession of fourth on the Devils all-time list (338).

Gomez later gave the Devils a 2-0 lead. He now has two goals and four assists in his last five games including two multi-point games.

Jagr’s assist on the goal gives him 1,065.
